Anti-larval insecticide based on the active ingredient Pyriproxyfen, belonging to the class of growth regulators (I.G.R.), active at low doses and with residual action. Its action is carried out by preventing the emergence of common mosquitoes present in the country (Culex pipiens, Aedes albopictus). PROXILAR® TABLETS contains Denatonium Benzoate, a bittering substance designed to reduce the risk of accidental ingestion by children and non-target animals. PROXILAR® TABLETS counteracts the normal development of mosquitoes in stagnant water. The active ingredient Pyriproxyfen is released into infested water within a few hours of the tablet being placed. Within 48 hours of release, most larvae (not pupae) undergo irreversible contamination that prevents the larvae from transforming into adult mosquitoes. The inhibition of the appearance of the winged stages occurs following an alteration in the insect's hormonal balance. The action of the active ingredient Pyriproxyfen is not influenced by the normal organic load present in stagnant water inside drains, wells and grates for collecting rainwater.
